Quinta do Centro - Alentejano, Portugal

Qunita do Centro is 500m or half way up the Serra do São Mamede - which rising to 1km above sea level is the highest point in southern Portugal.
The vineyard is on predominantly granite soil at the edge of the São Mamede Natural Park on the meia encosta - translated as half-way up the slope - which is considered where the best wines are produced.
The Quinta was puchased by Richard Mayson the british wine author with 5 books to his name in 2005.
